Growing up in Wexford on the southeast coast of Ireland, for Martin life was all about mates, sport, and school, and for the most part, he loved it.
He had a solid crew, did well academically, and thrived on the field. But as he got older, the pressure started to creep in- pressure to perform in sport, to get things right in relationships, to nail schoolwork. He didn’t know what to do with it, so he carried it alone. Anxiety became a familiar weight on his shoulders.
Then, when he was 15, a bloke named Tony from The Soar Foundation came to his school and ran a workshop. Three hours, 120 lads in a room - and somehow, Tony got them talking about the real stuff. The stuff that sits beneath the surface, beyond the usual banter.
He sat there, silent, taking it all in, but hearing other people share struggles that mirrored his own made him feel seen in a way he never had before. He walked out of that room feeling lighter. More connected. And the question that stuck with him? Why don’t more people get the chance to have conversations like that?
The following year, he did work experience with Soar, then stayed on as part of their youth crew, diving into personal development and facilitation. After finishing school, he went on to study psychology at Maynooth University, working part-time as a facilitator before stepping into a full-time role with Soar after graduating. For the next four years, he ran workshops across Ireland, creating spaces for young people to open up, be real, and feel heard—just like Tony had done for him.
Eventually, the pull to see more of the world brought him to Sydney. Now, he gets to travel, explore this beautiful country, and do work he’s deeply passionate about—helping men break down barriers and build real connections with Tomorrow Man.
Outside of work, you’ll find him catching up with mates, swimming, or out on the golf course—soaking up everything Sydney life has to offer.
